True Thailand Classic 2016 Presented by Chang
True and ThaiBev are investing more than Bt180 million to host Thailand’s largest professional sport event with highest cash prize in “True Thailand Classic 2016 Presented by Chang”. It is a tri-sanction with European tour, Asian tour and Thailand PGA which are the world’s second largest golf competition which will attract professional golfers from around the world to win the US$1.75 million (about Bt63 million) to win a spot to “Race to Dubai” – paving the way to Europe’s number one golfer. The tournament is a cooperation between public and private sectors which are True Corporation, Chang Beverages, Sports Authority of Thailand, Black Mountain Golf Club, Charoen Pokphand Group, Bangkok Bank Plc, Toyota Motor Thailand, and Thai Airways International.
The pros to attend the tournament include Miguel Angel Jimenez, Rikard Karlberg, Marc Warren, Thomas Pieters, Pelle Edberg and Johan Edfors, while Australian professional golfer Andrew Dodt who’s a former tournament champion will be playing with Thongchai Jaidee, Thailand’s number one professional golfer, and Kiradech Aphibarnrat at Black Mountain Golf Club in Hua Hin. The tournament will be live broadcast to over 223 million families in more than 50 countries around the world.
The tournament will official kick off on March 10-13 at Black Mountain Golf Club in Hua Hin, Prachuab Khiri Khan province. Live broadcast can be viewed at True Sport HD, True Sport 5, and True4U.

Chinese New Year in Hua Hin
The holiday is celebrated all over Thailand, especially in those areas with large populations of Chinese. It’s important to note that, while there may be large celebrations on the day, the Lunar New Year is not an official national holiday. Government offices and services remain open.
Some businesses may close for the day but as with every other holiday in Thailand, most shops will remain open for business as usual.
