Lying in the shadow of Khao Takiab (Chopsticks) hill, this sprawling open-air restaurant with its relaxed beach vibe is the place to go for your fix of the local cuisine.
Dine on the lush beach-fronted lawns under the serene gaze of the impressive 20-metre Buddha statue, in the shade of the huge Lanna-style pavilion encircled by fishponds, or in air-conditioned private salas.
A small playground to one side is designed to keep kids busy, while a live band adds to the magical ambience in the night.
The extensive menu serves up contemporary and traditional Thai dishes. Given it’s beachside location, seafood reigns here with entrees like the signature deep-fried morning glory that gets a kick from a sweet-spicy sauce with fresh prawns.
Other standouts include a salmon salad dressed in garlic, lemon and chilli, and the mouth-watering mix of oysters and scallions in a Thai-style omelette. For mains, nothing beats the perfectly balanced blend of hot, salty, sweet and sour flavours in the tom yum with tiger prawns; pair it with seafood fried rice baked in a whole pineapple.
For dessert, you won’t go wrong if you stick to the two all-time classics: mango with sticky rice and fried banana with honey. The drink list is not extensive but does include a few signature cocktails and a couple of locally
